The Full-Time Primary Instructor at Universal Islamic Academy is a vital leadership role responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging online Islamic education. This role involves managing virtual class interactions and actively fostering the intellectual, spiritual, and moral growth of students across diverse age groups and subjects.
Our instructors serve as direct role models for our students, embodying Islamic values (Akhlaq and Adab) and dedicating themselves to excellence (Ihsan) in every aspect of their teaching. This position is a profound amanah (trust) and reports to the Head of Education.
Lesson Delivery and Pedagogy: Deliver engaging and effective online lessons in assigned Islamic subjects (e.g., Qur'an, Hadith, Fiqh, Aqidah, Seerah, Arabic Language, or Academic Subjects), adhering to UIA's holistic curriculum and pedagogical standards.
Classroom Management: Implement Tarbiyah-based classroom management strategies, fostering a positive, respectful, and disciplined learning environment rooted in Islamic manners (Adab). This includes managing student engagement, behavior, and transitions effectively.
Student Engagement & Support: Actively engage all students, cater to diverse learning styles (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic), and provide personalized attention and emotional support to ensure comprehension and motivation.
Assessment & Feedback: Conduct formative and summative assessments and provide timely, constructive, and encouraging feedback to students on their academic progress and character development.
Curriculum Adherence & Preparation: Prepare thoroughly for each class, utilizing UIA's teacher guidance files, supplementary materials, and completing accurate lesson reports after each session. Ensure lessons align with curriculum objectives and emphasize UIA's monthly values.
Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development, including structured self-reflection (Muhasabah), actively seeking and integrating feedback, and participating in peer learning opportunities.
Communication & Policy Adherence: Communicate with students and administration through designated platforms only (e.g., Google Meet and Google Classroom), strictly adhering to UIA's communication policies and the Student Code of Conduct.
Proficiency in speaking and writing (B2 level or higher). in one or more of the following languages: English, Spanish, or French.
Proficiency in speaking and writing in Arabic Language.
Proven ability or strong skills in teaching Islamic subjects or none Islamic subjects to both children and adults (different age groups).
Ability to use the technologies (e.g., Google Meet, Google Classroom) and educational technology.
Bachelor's degree Or Ijazah in Islamic Studies, Education, or a related field.
Proven experience (1+ years) in teaching Islamic subjects, preferably in an online environment.
Strong knowledge of assigned Islamic subjects and modern pedagogical methods.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
